Our first 5k running advice tip is to buy a decent pair of running shoes. No you don’t need the kind the ultra marathoner’s wear. What you need is good cross training shoes….for walking and jogging. (Like we said before: we don’t care how many miles you used to run) So put on some shorts and sweats, lace up the shoes and stretch.

We know that you know that stretching is not only important but critical to a good workout. You need to be sure those leg muscles are bathed in blood before you start. If not then all the 5k running advice we offer you will be for naught. Just like trying to run an engine with no oil…everything freezes up, you’re in pain and your comeback ends before it gets started.
So stretch for 10 minutes, limber up at our age we need it.

 Step 4 jog 1/2 mile walk 1/4 mile x 4 5 days or until its comfortable 3 miles 15 miles
 Step 5 jog 1 mile walk 1/4 mile x2 5 days or until its comfortable 2 1/2 miles 12 1/2 miles

5k running advice at this level you will have begun to lose weight, your confidence has grown, as once again you are controling your mind and body. Warning! You are still not 19 and at this stage you're saying to yourself Ok I'm back I can push it now. Not so fast friend. Our experience has shown that now is the time to be careful and for you to have patience.
